The Tom Hardy Style: Credentials to Classic Fashion

By Brad Chase

Tom Hardy may play the villain in the new Batman movie, 'The Dark Knight Rises,' but he's a hero when it comes to his sense of style. Tom keeps it simple and opts for a classic, gentlemanly look which allows him to easily move from the red carpet to an afternoon interview without missing a beat.

Streamline your wardrobe and your life with these fashion tips from Tom. Remember, the less you have to worry about your clothing, the more confident you'll feel wherever you go. You shouldn't have to wonder what you're going to wear, how you're going to put your outfit together, or whether it will all pull together effectively. If you desire a perfect look, you can achieve it only when you build the right wardrobe foundation.

Tom Hardy Style Credentials

Be Classic - Painstakingly tailored suits are essentials of Tom Hardy red carpet style. Recently, he appeared in a classic trench coat and black, slim cut suit. It spoke volumes of his gentlemanly heritage style. Start your wardrobe with this same foundation (after all, every man needs at least one black suit) and you'll have the beginnings of smart and stylish fashion foundation.

The Right Shoes - The Dark Knight has been seen in shoes very much like our own Black Windsor's. Another style staple, these shoes can be worn with a more casual tweed jacket if necessary, but are an absolute must for a sharp, black suit. It's nice to have shoes that are versatile enough to go from one outfit to the next without having to change. This is especially helpful on your busiest days.

Accessories to a Minimum - Most trends won't truly last much. It's the rationale they are titled as trends in the first place. The classics, well, that's a different story. Many classics will be there for a very long time. You need to choose classics when considering accessories. Whether its sunglasses or belts or even watches, you must buy the basics. Don't be dressed in accessories that are loud and go for slim lines and classic colours.

Casual Without Sloppiness - Your casual days don't have to be sloppy days. Oversized, square cut t-shirts or unfit casual wear doesn't look good. Wear a nice pair of jeans and something from one of Brook Taverner's tweed jackets and button cuff shirts for special occasions.

If you have to, pretend YOU are a celebrity and the paparazzi is waiting outside your front door. Make it a habit to never leave the house unless you are ready to run into anyone. You must make an actual attempt if you wish to snag the style of Tom Hardy.

The new year is the perfect time to build a foundational wardrobe for yourself. Become the polished, distinguished version of you, you always wanted to be!
